A CONTEMPORARY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ARCHITECTURAL CULTURE IN BOLOGNA
The input from the site is used to reach the pixelated form of the landscape. Circulation and the nodes were used as the attractors in the script for the topography of the model. According to the circulation; public-private qualities in the context -site-, and space needs, the programs were placed in this pixelated topographical system. Then the relationships between them were provided with the exterior and multi-level access points. The urban pixels in the site transformed itself into architectural form; as a shell when the large opening areas are needed; and as a modualar cluster; when the housing is the function. Level differences provide the variety in space qualities. They also form terraces and the whole site can act as an urban garden for the citizens. Horizontal circulation is provided by the in between spaces, on the ground floor, also acting as the exhibition spaces. Terraces are structurally and naturally formed in the housing area so all the units have enough open space. This balances closeness.
