STIGMERGIC-SCAPES: AFTER THE REMOVAL OF BODRUM TERMINAL
DEEP FLOW-SCAPES: NATURAL AND HISTORICAL RESEARCH CENTER
Deep Flow-scapes: Natural and Historical Research Center
Bodrum is the city of conflicts. It is located a very rich and beautiful land both naturally and historically, but there is no attempt to make it visible. It has a valuable historical background, but it is not efficiently accessible. There are many stream beds, but they are closed and it causes flood. It has a perfect climate but no planned green area. Moreover, despite the crazy crowd and traffic in summers, there is not a sufficient transportation system. Deep Flowscape perceives all these problems as an infrastructural problem and to solve these, the proposal is to include and combine these deep networks. While proposing networks, Deep Flowscape benefits from the concept of ‘Urban Landscape Infrastructure’, which means that the infrastructure can generate from the elements of both the nature and the urban. Therefore, the new network system is identified with the deep flow of green, water, transportation and historical ruins. The new programs occur from the emergence of these flows. Similarly, spaces are generated within the juxtaposition of these flows guided by the grid of the "excavation" layer.
