STIGMERGIC-SCAPES: AFTER THE REMOVAL OF BODRUM TERMINAL
POROUS CITY BODRUM: BLUE-GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE
Porous City Bodrum: Blue-Green Infrastructure
The project is started by revealing Bodrum Peninsula from a different perspective; as a muddy, grey, and wet city. Throughout history, several water sources and their traces have been found in Bodrum. Although a huge amount of water capacity is discovered in the city; because of impermanent approaches and waste of valuable water sources, scarcity during summertime and flooding even after half an hour raining are becoming inevitable consequences. The whole city is read as a cellular system in the light of designated references and inspired by marine sponge’s stigmergic characteristics in order to find a sustainable solution to overcome this dilemma for urban resilience. From form to function, landscape to deepscape, physical object to conceptual aspect; Porous_City proposes blue-green multifunctional infrastructure, urban farming, water rehabilitation, and green leakage.
