Izmir Oscoll Center
An open source software r&d center
Open source system is a system that enables people who wants to reach any sources freely from anywhere through the Internet. It encourages them to be a part of this system. It boosts developments and creates an environment of collaboration. Free sources create free information to use and to invent new ones.
Because it is accessible from anywhere, it has very flexible space limitations. Anyone with a computer, the power and the internet would feel enough to work.
A new type of r&d space organization !
- where a technology museum and a library come together with penetration of the nature around
- use of all the functions in the same spaces to create very flexibly usable areas using this, oscoll centers are where anyone is allowed to use, participate in or contribute to the activities taking place. That promotes people use it freely for different functions. It provides integrated spaces that enable them work at one side or follow the museum orientation at the other side in one space. It is a characteristic of this kind of r&d centers that no strict space limitations or separations are designed.
